One of the most popular contemporary dance companies in the world is set to tour the UK, with two dates in Belfast’s Grand Opera House in March.
Nederlands Dans Theatre was founded in 1978 and is currently directed by Paul Lightfoot. It comprises of 16 international dances up to the age of 23, who perform a show that has been described by the Independent on Sunday as being "full on energy and fizz".
The company, originally set up as an internal training class, now perform to rave reviews and standing ovations across the globe. The theatre is in constant corroboration with world renowned choreographers, such as Jiri Kylian, as well as cutting-edge dance experts such as Lukas Timulak and Alexander Ekman. The theatrical feasts are complimented with striking stage sets and transporting soundtracks, as disparate as Franz Schubert and Jimi Hendrix.
NDT2 make an impact wherever they go, forcing new precedents for the rest of the dance world by combining spectacular technique and flamboyant theatricality which embodies a youthful vitality. The show will be appearing at the Grand Opera House in Belfast on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st March 2012.
